SOS Children’s Villages in Malawi is an independent, not-for-profit social development organization that has been working to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of children since 1994.

We are Malawi’s largest development organisation ensuring that children and young people without parental care or at risk of losing it, grow up with the care, relationships, and support they need to become their strongest selves.

We believe that truly bonding with a child has the power to change the world.

Our target group is referred to us by children’s courts, government departments, police stations, credible community organizations, hospitals, and members of the public.

We work in accordance with the 2010 Child Care Protection and Justice Act, The Malawi Constitution and other child related legal frameworks, and the UN Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children.

We currently have 18000 children being reached through the Family Strengthening Programmes in the communities and our Family Like Care within the 4 Children ‘s Villages.
